Jesse Lingard is still a free-agent after leaving Manchester United last month, with West Ham United and Nottingham Forest keen to sign him.
The duo seem to be the two teams that are more than likely going to add him to their books this summer, with Danny Murphy claiming that he is ‘one of the best at running off the ball’, as he told talkSPORT.
Given Lingard’s past relationship and previous loan spell at the London Stadium, many felt that he would have already landed on their doorstep after leaving Old Trafford.

But, as things stand, he has no club and now newly-promoted Nottingham Forest are emerging as the favourites to sign him.
Murphy spoke highly about the West Ham and Forest transfer target and made it clear that he needs to sign for a club that will provide him regular minutes.
“He showed in that brief spell (at West Ham) what talent he has got,” said Murphy. “He’s a very intelligent footballer.
“He is one of the best I have seen in running off the ball, making runs, when to run behind and when to come in the hole.
“He’s not bothered about using up energy making run after run to try and make space. Very clever footballer.
“Somebody with his talent should be playing week in and week out somewhere. That’s what he should be looking for now.”

WEST HAM OR FOREST?
The last time Lingard was in West Ham colours, his arrival pushed them towards Europa League football.
They narrowly missed out on that last season, but they are still in Europe and they will be aiming to win the Europa Conference League next season.
It seems as though David Moyes is being well and truly backed this summer, so Lingard’s arrival would only increase their chances of a top-six finish.
But with Forest returning to the big time, they don’t want to be going back to England’s second tier any time soon.
So, if Lingard were to join the Midlands giants, then he increases their chances of staying in the Premier League big time.
