Trevor Sinclair has stated that West Ham United have ‘never really’ had two number nine’s ahead of Gianluca Scamacca‘s possible arrival, as he told talkSPORT.
David Moyes is adding to his thin firing line, with Scamacca spotted at an airport in Rome, ahead of his flight to London and transfer to the Hammers.
It’s another European adventure for those in Claret & Blue next season, but this time, Moyes is going to have a much stronger squad to work with.

Michail Antonio ran himself into the ground last season and that lack of depth up top probably cost the team a top-six finish in the Premier League.
But the hard-hitting forward is now going to have some competition in the form of a Sassuolo hitman, who struck 16 Serie A goals last season.
Nonetheless, when Sinclair was asked to share his thoughts on his possible arrival, he shared that Scamacca will keep Antonio ‘on his toes’.
“So, do I (hope West Ham can get the Scamacca deal over the line),” said Sinclair. “We are in real need of a striker. They have tried a few players to go in there and fill that space by giving Antonio a bit of rest.
“But we have never really had two number 9’s battling for that spot in that team. I think it will be good for Antonio as well. I think it will put him on his toes. And he will be rested at the right times.
“If Gianluca comes in and does a good job, then that will be West Ham looking really strong going forward because they have great midfielders. Attacking midfielders, but they just rely on Antonio to score the goals and it’s too much on one man’s shoulder.”

WHERE WILL WEST HAM FINISH?
The London outfit are entering different territory now because they are starting to become European regulars and fans outside of the club are expecting big things from them.
Maintain that European spot will be one of the aims for next season, but the fans would more than happily sacrifice that for a trophy.
That Europa League journey was entertaining, and drama-filled, but ultimately, it was heartbreaking in the end for the fans.
But surely those in Claret & Blue have to target the Europa Conference League because it’s a trophy they are more than capable of adding to their cabinet.
If they can’t get to that, then the FA Cup and League Cup are also realistic chances of the Hammers ending their long-awaited trophy-drought.
