Champions League. That’s the main aim for the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea next season, even if they have aspirations of trying to close the quite significant gap between the Premier League’s top two.

Chelsea are starting to get themselves warmed up in the transfer market, whilst Tottenham and Arsenal have been pretty busy during the window, even before it was opened.

Ray Parlour thinks ‘Tottenham are looking good’ heading into the new season, whilst Thomas Tuchel’s side are ‘looking strong’, as he told Sky Sports.

That battle for Champions League football is going to be something, with Spurs pipping their north London rivals right at the death last time out.

Highbury hero Parlour warned Arsenal about the ‘difficult’ nature of trying to get top four given what is around them, but he is hoping they can go ‘one better’.

“We all look at Manchester City and Liverpool, they are so far above everybody,” said Parlour. “Chelsea are looking strong as well. They are going to have a go. They have their new owners. I am sure they are going to be very successful going forward as well.

“Spurs are looking good. They have strengthened. Every single team has strengthened. It’s going to be difficult (for Arsenal), but you have to believe you can do it. It’s a young side, so they have to learn from their mistakes from last season.

“Hopefully, they can go one better and get that Champions League because financially for the club it’s great and you can then attract the great players.”

WHO HAS HAD A STRONGER TRANSFER WINDOW SO FAR?

From Raheem Sterling joining Chelsea to Gabriel Jesus landing on Arsenal’s doorstep and Tottenham’s £25 million capture of Yves Bissouma.

The London trio have brought in a fair few names and know that they have to take their squads to the next level, or else they will be left behind.

But with six or so weeks still remaining before the summer transfer window slams shut, who has had the better window from the likes of Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal?

Sterling has to be up there in regards to being one of the best buys because of what he has achieved in the Premier League, but someone like Jesus would want to put his name forward as well.

Equally, to pay £25 million in this current market for a player like Bissouma is a top-quality purchase from Spurs, but at the end of the day, all the work they have done will only be answered out on the pitch ahead of the new Premier League season.
