Sabrina Claudio is credited on Beyoncé’s album

On Wednesday (July 20), Beyoncé released the tracklist of Renaissance, eight days before the album is officially released on streaming platforms.

The album features the likes of several artists, including Skrillex, Labrinth, Lucky Daye, Tems, SYD, Nija Charles, Honey Dijon, Drake, and others.

Sabrina is credited on the eighth track in the album, titled Plastic Off The Sofa, but the collaboration has sparked criticism among some Twitter users.

As reported by Billboard in 2018, Sabrina apologized for a racial slur that fans uncovered in screenshots from a since-removed Twitter account that the singer used.

The outlet reported that Sabrina apologized for her “past ignorance” and wrote: “I am deeply sorry for the insensitive words I’ve used. Some of the things you are seeing are true while others aren’t.”

She added: “I realize my past ignorance is affecting people I care so much about and I am so sorry. I’ve made mistakes and while I cannot take them back, I will learn from them.”

More about the new album

Renaissance consists of 16 tracks in total and will be released on streaming platforms on July 29, 2022.

Beyoncé announced the project in mid-June after announcing that she had been working on her seventh studio album for some time.

Giving more context about the project, Queen B explained in an Instagram post: “Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving.

“My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are.”
