Wolves are looking into a potential £9 million deal that would see Hoffenheim’s Bundesliga centre-back Stefan Posch join Nathan Collins at the Premier League outfit, as reported by Sky Germany.
Julian Nagelsmann knows a rising star when he sees one.
And one of the generation’s most talented tacticians had no qualms about throwing a young Posch in at the deep end while cutting his managerial teeth at Hoffenheim.
Nagelsmann may be long gone these days but his influence endures, with the 11-time Austria international one of the first names on the team-sheet. And if it was Posch’s durability and ball-playing capabilities that caught the now–Bayern Munich boss’ eye, those very same attributes could make him a smart addition to Bruno Lage’s Wolverhampton Wanderers squad too.
Did we mention that Posch is already au fait with a three-man backline, having spent much of his time on the right of a defensive trio at the Rhein Neckar Arena?

According to Florian Plettenburg of Sky Deutschland, Wolves are looking into a potential £9 million deal. Posch has just just two years left on his contract at the Bundesliga outfit.
“Stefan Posch; It is possible that he will leave Hoffenheim in this transfer window,” Plettenburg writes. “He has a market in the Premier League. Wolverhampton is in. Transfer fee; Probably around 10 million euros.”
If Nathan Collins arrives from Stoke City to take Romain Saiss’ place at Molineux, then Posch could be a long-term successor for the ageing and increasingly injury-hit Willy Boly. This is not the first time the 25-year-old has attracted Premier League interest either.
Posch was a target for Arsenal before crossing the border from Austria to Germany.
“I was very young at the time,” Posch told Spox. “And therefore disappointed (to miss out on a move to the Emirates. But, looking back, it went well for me. Hoffenheim was definitely the right decision.”
