Paulo Dybala may have only signed for Roma yesterday, but there’s already speculation ongoing about his future.

Indeed, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Dybala has a €20m (£17m) release clause included in his Roma contract, and that is sure to have caught the attention of Tottenham Hotspur.

As many Spurs fans will know, the London club have long been admirers of Dybala – pursuing him for three summers running at this point, and according to some, Fabio Paratici is ‘crazy’ about the Argentine.

Paratici worked alongside Dybala during his time at Juventus, so he knows what the player is all about, and this £17m price tag may well tempt Spurs into a move.

£17m may seem like something of a bargain for Dybala, but let’s not forget, he’s been a free agent for the past three weeks, so spending this sort of fee on the former Juventus man wouldn’t necessarily represent great value.

Of course, a move isn’t going to happen in the coming days or weeks. After all, the ‘top player’ has only just signed for Roma, but come January or next summer, a deal could well be on the agenda.

A lot of this depends on how Dybala gets on in Rome. The Serie A giants have the option to circumnavigate this release clause by increasing Dybala’s salary or offering him a longer deal, but that is only likely to happen if the Argentine hits the ground running.

However, if Dybala gets off to a fantastic start in Rome, it may not be long before Europe’s elite clubs come calling again, and if that happens, Jose Mourinho’s side may be powerless to keep hold of him.

Keep an eye on this situation in the coming months, especially if any links to Tottenham emerge.
