Japhet Tanganga is set to leave Tottenham with a move to AC Milan now moving closer and closer to completion.
Tanganga has come up through the Tottenham ranks and emerged in the first team setup under Jose Mourinho.
The versatile defender has appeared pretty much everywhere at the back for Tottenham; left back, right back, centre back.
Tanganga’s versatility can be a blessing but also a curse; he can play in so many positions at a moment’s notice, but he just hasn’t been able to nail down a starting role in any of them.
It may now be time for Tanganga to leave Tottenham and play elsewhere, with a move to Italy seemingly a possibility.
Japhet Tanganga is set to leave Tottenham
AC Milan have been chasing Tanganga’s signature having missed out on top defender target Sven Botman to Newcastle United.
Tottenham’s Fabio Paratici headed off to Italy last week with Tanganga’s potential move to Serie A believed to be a key topic of discussion.
There were strange reports from Italy suggesting that Celtic were looking to swoop in and beat Milan to Tanganga’s signature.
Unsurprisingly, Tanganga isn’t heading to Celtic and instead looks Milan-bound.
The Daily Mail now report that Milan and Tottenham are ‘close to completing a deal’ for Tanganga to move to the San Siro.

It’s stated that Tottenham are pushing for a buy-back clause to be inserted into the deal.
Tanganga would join Milan on loan with an obligation to buy in 2023, which would then give Tottenham the option to bring Tanganga back.
Tottenham put a similar clause into Kyle Walker-Peters’ move to Southampton with the door open for both homegrown talents to return to Spurs one day.
Tanganga has to look at Fikayo Tomori as a great case study of what he can become with Milan.
Former Chelsea ace Tomori was in a similar position to Tanganga; struggling for first-team minutes and in need of a move away to kickstart his career.
Now one of Serie A’s best defenders and back in the England international squad, Tomori is a great reference point for Tanganga.
