AC Milan could now beat Leeds United to Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech following reports that the European giants are close to signing Charles De Ketelaere, who has been on Jesse Marsch’s radar for weeks.

According to CalcioMercato, the Italian champions are hopeful of signing Ziyech after reviving talks with the Moroccon attacker just days after Milan reportedly agreed a £30m deal to sign Charles De Ketelaere, a player Leeds have been chasing for weeks and at one point looked very close to bringing to Elland Road.

However, Milan now look to have won that race, and the Rossoneri could now beat Leeds yet again to another top target, this time in Ziyech, who Chelsea only signed two years ago from Ajax for a reported £34m, with Thomas Tuchel eager to offload the creative attacker this summer, who earns a reported £100,000-a-week.

Whilst Leeds have signed a wide player this summer in Luis Sinisterra, Jesse Marsch is looking for an extra winger following the departure of Raphinha, with De Ketelaere and Ziyech both being linked to the Yorkshire side this summer, yet now it appears that Milan will land both attackers in the coming days.

The Italian side head into the new season looking to defend their Serie A title, and following last season’s disaster in the UEFA Champions League, it makes sense why Milan are going hard in the transfer market this summer, with Stefan Pioli looking to strengthen the squad and their depth in quality.

Indeed, Milan have done a good job this summer in their business, and beating Leeds to another target in Ziyech would be another huge blow for Marsch, who would have now been embarrassed twice by the European champions in the transfer market.

Ziyech and De Ketelaere were always going to be ambitious signings for Leeds, and with Milan likely to sign both players this summer, Marsch and company could now be forced into looking at alternative targets with just over a month of the window left to go.

The Whites have spent well this summer, but the Yorkshire side could still do with another wide player with Raphinha now a Barcelona man, and the quicker Leeds move on from Ziyech and De Ketelaere the better given how little time is one the club for the Premier League club.
