Morgan Gibbs-White prefers to stay at Wolverhampton Wanderers to moving away, according to The Guardian, which will come as a blow to Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United and Frank Lampard’s Everton.

Morgan Gibbs-White blow for Leeds and Everton

The Athletic reported on June 1 that Leeds want to sign Gibbs-White from Premier League rivals Wolves in the summer transfer window.

The Guardian have reported that Crystal Palace, Everton and Nottingham Forest have also shown interest in the playmaker, but the 22-year-old ‘would prefer to fight for his place at Molineux’.

Not set in stone

In our view, if Leeds United and Everton are determined to sign Morgan Gibbs-White from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window, then they should not give up just yet.

There is still time left for the Toffees and the West Yorkshire club to change the 22-year-old’s stance.

Gibbs-White was a regular for Sheffield United in the Championship last season, and he will surely want to continue his progress.

If Leeds or Everton are able to show that he would develop at Elland Road or Goodison Park and play regularly, then a transfer could well happen.

The youngster scored 12 goals and gave 10 assists in 25 Championship starts for the Blades last season.
