AS Roma are reportedly readying themselves to make an offer to sign Georginio Wijnaldum on loan with an £8m option to buy, with Everton also interested in the PSG outcast this summer.

According to Il Messaggero, Wijnaldum is emerging as Jose Mourinho’s next big target following their incredible signing of Paulo Dybala, who officially signed for Roma last week as a free agent, with the Netherlands’ international now on Roma’s radar with PSG eager to offload the 31-year-old.

As per the report, PSG want to rid themselves of Wijnaldum as soon as possible, and Roma are emerging as a strong candidate to take the former Liverpool superstar off their hands, with the Serie A side preparing to make a loan offer with an £8m obligation to buy next summer.

However, Roma are not alone in their interest for Wijnaldum, with recent reports suggesting that Frank Lampard is keen to bring the midfielder back to Merseyside with Everton, with the Toffees’ in desperate need of improving their squad ahead of the new season in two weeks.

Despite Wijnaldum’s links to Liverpool, Everton still remain hot on the midfielder’s trail, yet Roma’s increased interest in the 31-year-old could see the Serie A side land the former PSV Eindhoven superstar as soon as next week, with PSG keen to wrap up a deal as soon as possible, as per the report.

Labelled as ‘sensational’ by Jurgen Klopp, Wijnaldum would be an incredible signing for most top sides this summer, yet for Everton, Roma seemingly have the pull to make a deal possible, especially with PSG looking to find a buyer for the midfielder sooner rather than later.

After winning the UEFA Europa Conference League last season, Roma are making strides in the right direction to build on from this European success, and Mourinho signing Wijnaldum on top of the arrivals of Dybala and Nemanja Matic would be an incredible way to set expectations for the upcoming campaign.

As we know, Wijnaldum is an incredible player who has simply been a poor fit at PSG, like many of the French club’s recent signings, and moving to Roma to play for Mourinho would be a great way to reignite his career, much to the dismay of Everton, who look set to miss out on an incredible addition.
