PSG reportedly offered Manchester City the chance to sign Brazilian superstar Neymar in exchange for Bernardo Silva, with the Premier League champions rejecting the proposal.

According to Le Parisian, the French giants proposed a deal with City involving Neymar that would see Pep Guardiola offer a player in return, with the reporting stating that Silva has caught the eye of PSG’s new manager Christophe Galtier, though the Manchester side rejected any swap deal.

As per the report, Guardiola doesn’t want Neymar’s presence to unbalance the harmony of the squad, something the Catalan manager has spent years trying to build and has somewhat perfected over many transfer windows, with Erling Haalan, Julian Alvarez and Kalvin Phillips the club’s newest arrivals.

However, one player who won’t be signing for City this window is Neymar despite PSG offering the attacker to the club, with the Brazilian the one of the highest-paid players at the French giants at a reported £600,000-a-week, with Kylian Mbappe the only superstar reportedly earning more.

Indeed, rumours of Neymar’s future have been rife this summer, with the winger’s contract recently being automatically extended until 2027 in a move that could hamper PSG’s squad for many years to come, with Galtier looking to revamp the entire team.

Big-name players such as Mauro Icardi and Georginio Wijnaldum have been reportedly placed on the transfer list, with PSG keen to move away from their superstar model of signings that has been a huge hindrance in their quest to win the UEFA Champions League.

City are right to reject PSG’s audacious offer for Neymar

It’s a transfer straight out of FIFA 22. Silva has been one of City’s best players other the past two seasons, and the audacity of PSG to offer Neymar to the Premier League side can be both respected and laughed at for even thinking the deal would even be accepted.

The French giants have clearly made a huge error in including a clause to extend Neymar’s contract by an extra five years, and City made the right call rejecting PSG’s proposal to offer the Brazilian in exchange for Silva, who will be one of the Cityzens’ most important players next season.
