Everton manager Frank Lampard is ready to send Nathan Patterson out on loan in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

The Sun are reporting this evening (9:30pm, July 23, 2022) that Everton manager Lampard wants to give Patterson playing time next season.

Lampard wants to sign a new right-back and thinks that the former Rangers player needs more matches to get to the level he desires, according to the report.

The Sun have added that clubs in the Championship will queue up to sign Patterson on loan.

Everton disappointment for Nathan Patterson

In our view, speculation that Frank Lampard wants to offload Nathan Patterson temporarily will come as a disappointment to the Everton right-back.

After all, the Scotland international moved to Everton from Rangers only in January 2022 for £10 million (The Sun).

And now he could be send out on loan to the second tier of English football.

The 20-year-old was signed by then Everton manager Rafael Benitez, and he had injury problems at the Toffees after a spell in the Under-23s side.

Patterson would have been hoping to get chances in the Everton first team this season, but it looks like the right-back might have to wait for a while for that.
