Italian outlet Tutto AS Roma claim that Jose Mourinho has requested Tottenham man Oliver Skipp to be included in a deal for Nicolo Zaniolo – but Fabio Paratici has only been willing to use either Japhet Tanganga or Tanguy Ndombele.

Zaniolo, 22, has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League and most notably, Tottenham. It comes after a brilliant campaign in which he returned from injury to have a hand in 17 goals under Mourinho.

The Italy ace scored the winner in the Europa Conference League final against Feyenoord. It is believed Roma are requesting a fee of £43million for Zaniolo. Tottenham are trying to reduce that figure by including a player.

Reports state that Tottenham will hold further talks for Zaniolo this week as Paratici tries to get a deal over the line. While Mourinho is open to the inclusion of a player in a deal, he does not want Ndombele or Tanganga.

Instead, he wants Skipp – a player he once described as a future captain of Tottenham. He is also keen on Reguilon. But Roma are well-stocked at left-back and as things stand he is not a priority. Tottenham have said no to including Skipp.

Mourinho has requested Tottenham man Skipp in Zaniolo deal

Firstly, Zaniolo would be a superb signing for Spurs. If they need anything in attack, it is a player that can offer cover both up front and on either wing. If Conte fancies switching to a system with a no.10, Zaniolo can do that too.

He would be a super addition and well worth his £43million price tag. But Spurs would rather offload a player at the same time, one that is not going to get much game time this season. Tanganga and Ndombele fit that category.

But there is no chance they should include Skipp. The Englishman is ready-made for Conte’s system. Conte likes him and he has just put pen to paper on a new deal. No surprises then. that Tottenham have said no.
