West Ham United want Gianluca Scamacca and Sassuolo seemingly aren’t expecting him to ever play for the club again.

The Hammers have been desperately chasing a major striker signing in recent weeks.

Michail Antonio is into his 30’s and has become known for muscle injuries over the years, so West Ham need to find another striker.

Armando Broja has been a key target but Chelsea’s reluctance to do a deal means West Ham have looked at other targets.

West Ham United want Gianluca Scamacca

One prime target is Sassuolo hitman Scamacca, who had been heavily linked with Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer.

Sky Sports report that West Ham have now agreed a deal worth £35.5million for Scamacca, but personal terms are the next hurdle.

Scamacca, 23, hit 16 goals in 36 games for Sassuolo last season, becoming one of Serie A’s most dangerous striker.

West Ham seem to have real hope of signing the Italian and their cause will be boosted by reports in Italy.

Talks have been going on with West Ham, and whilst another club could join the race, it’s expected that Scamacca is on the move.

Scamacca could return to Sassuolo one day, but in this stint at the club, it’s expected that his days in green and black are over.

Paris Saint-Germain appear to have backed away from Scamacca when a deal looked almost nailed on.

West Ham have now swooped in and struck a deal for Scamacca and you can hardly blame fans for being excited.

Scamacca’s former Italy Under-16 coach Bruno Tedino has compared the giant 6ft 5in target man to Bayern Munich goal machine Robert Lewandowski.

If Scamacca become even half the goalscorer Lewandowski has been, West Ham will have landed an absolute gem.
