AC Milan Info report that Milan are now in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga on a loan-to-buy deal. The report claims Milan will pay an initial £1.7million fee, and £12million.
Tanganga, 23, has fallen down the pecking order at Tottenham over the last few months. Despite Antonio Conte playing three at the back, Tanganga is behind Davinson Sanchez and Cristian Romero on the right of the three.
Eric Dier and Joe Rodon are likely to be preferred in the middle. At right wing-back, the club have just signed Djed Spence – and both have Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty. Tanganga needs to leave the club on loan.

Milan are closing in. The latest report states that Milan are in ‘advanced talks’, with the player’s agent said to have flown to Italy this week. An initial fee of £1.7million will be paid to Spurs, and a permanent £12m option included.

It is a brilliant move for Tanganga. Despite falling out of the reckoning at Spurs, he will be joining a club that will be in next season’s Champions League. They will also be fighting for the Serie A title, after winning the title last term.
The question is, will Tanganga get regular game time at Spurs? The club boast numerous options in the middle of the defence. Tanganga will have to work hard and perform well when given the chance, if he is to start.
It is a win win for all. Tanganga gets a great move to a massive side, Milan get a versatile defender in the Spurs ace – and Tottenham get a loan fee. They then get a future fee, or an improved Tanganga.
