Tottenham Hotspur striker Troy Parrott will sign a new contract with the Premier League club, according to The Times.

Troy Parrott to sign new Tottenham Hotspur contract

The Times have reported that Republic of Ireland international striker will put pen to paper on a new deal with Tottenham and then move on loan in the summer transfer window.

Preston North End are in talks with Tottenham over a loan deal for the 20-year-old striker, according to The Daily Mail, who have added that Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers are also keen on the youngster, described as  “class”, “incredible” and “quality” by Conor Coventry, then on loan at MK Dons from West Ham United in MK Citizen in March 2022.

Parrott will reportedly become the next player to sign a new Tottenham contract after Ben Davies.

Tottenham have announced on their official website today that the Wales international centre-back has put pen to paper on a new deal until 2025.

Sensible decision

In our view, it would make sense for Tottenham Hotspur to hand Troy Parrott a new deal and then send him out on loan to a club in the Championship for next season.

The Republic of Ireland international striker has played only a handful of matches for the Spurs first team.

The 20-year-old is clearly talented, and Tottenham should not lose him on a permanent basis.

Playing regularly in the Championship next season would help Parrott develop his game.

The striker scored nine goals and gave six assists in 36 Ligue 1 starts during his loan spell at MK Dons last season.
