New Years Eve Party Hosted by the Duggar Family after Josh’s Conviction for Child Pornography

New Years Eve Party Hosted by the Duggar Family

The Duggar family gathered to ring in the new year as a family.

For the first time since the beginning of the year, the Duggar family shared a video of their annual New Year’s Eve celebration on Saturday. There were many of her siblings, in-laws, and nieces and nephews, as well as parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, in the video.

“Happy New Years! 🎊” Jana, 31, captioned the post, adding the hashtags “#annualnewyearseveparty” and “#familyandfriends.”

The following day, Jana shared her personal goals for the new year with her followers in a more introspective post.

“Now that we are officially in 2022, I know I’m not alone when it comes to working on some goals to achieve throughout the year!” she wrote. “I have come to the sad decision that I should avoid frequenting the McDonalds drive-through quite as often as I did in 2021 (fries will be my downfall!!). 😆🍟 I also need to drink more water. Not sure why that one is so difficult, but it is for me! Another one of my goals is to read through the whole Bible by the end of the year.”

Also on Instagram, Joy-Anna (Duggar) Forsyth, the younger sister of Jana, posted two photos of herself and her children, 3-year-old Gideon and 16-month-old Evelyn Mae, in their family in 2022 celebrations.

“Welcome 2022 & Happy New Year!!” the caption read. “Love, Austin, Joy, Gideon & Evelyn Forsyth.”

Sister Jill (Duggar) Dillard commented on the sweet post, writing “Aww! 💞.”

Since Josh Duggar was arrested in March for possessing and receiving child sex abuse material, the Duggar family has had a tumultuous year. He was found guilty, despite his protests of innocence, and faces up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines as a result.

Josh’s sentencing is expected in about three months, but no date has been set yet. Josh previously admitted to multiple incidents of molesting minors while he was a teenager.

On the same day that Josh Duggar’s guilty verdict was read out loud in court, news broke that Josh’s younger sister Jana Duggar had also faced legal troubles back in ’21.

In a court document obtained by PEOPLE, Jana was charged on Sept. 9 with endangering the welfare of a minor and has since pleaded not guilty.
