Billie Eilish dropped two new tracks – The 30th and TV – and they are both available to stream now. While TV was previously performed at her concert, The 30th is a brand new track, and fans want to know what its lyrics are about. Well, the singer herself has explained the meaning of her new song.

Like most of her other tracks, TV and The 30th have become trendsetters already as social media is flooded with reviews and comments for the two new songs.

However, it is the lyrics of The 30th that has added a deeper meaning to the song as it touches upon a “car accident.”

Meaning of The 30th by Billie Eilish and what it is about

Billie Eilish sat down for a chat with Zane Lowe of Apple Music, during which she explained the meaning of the title of her new song, The 30th.

The singer told the host that she and her brother, Phineas, wrote the new track on December 30th, and it was the first song they penned since Happier Than Ever.

Billie said: “That’s why it’s called ‘The 30th,’”

She also claimed that the track is about something that happened on November 30, which was “the most indescribable thing to have to witness and experience”.

Meanwhile, the song talks about the aftermath of a car accident that involved someone dear to Billie, who managed to survive.

She didn’t go into the details of her song.

Lyrics of Billie Eilish’s song about car accident

Below are the complete lyrics of The 30th.

“Sometimes, you look the sameJust like you did before the accidentWhen you’re starin’ into spaceIt’s hard to believe you don’t remember itWoke up in the ambulanceYou pieced it all together on the drive.

I know you don’t remember calling meBut I told you even then you looked so prettyIn a hospital bed, I remember you saidYou were scaredAnd so was I

In a standstill on the 5Thought it was unusual, the early trafficUsually, I don’t panicI just wanted to be on timeWhen I saw the ambulances on the shoulderI didn’t even think of pullin’ overI pieced it all together late that night

And I know you don’t remember calling meBut I told you even then you looked so prettyIn a hospital bed, I remember you saidYou were scaredAnd so was I

What if it happened to you on a different day?On a bridge where there wasn’t a rail in the way?Or a neighborhood street where the little kids play?Or the Angeles Crest in the snow or the rain? What if you weren’t alone? There were kids in the carWhat if you were remote? No one knows where you areIf you changed anything, would you not have survived? You’re alive, you’re alive, you’re alive

And I know you don’t remember calling meBut I told you even then you looked so prettyIn your hospital bed, I remember you saidYou were scaredAnd so am I”

“Guitar Songs” are out now

Billie is calling her two new melodies “Guitar Songs.”

TV had already gathered attention when she performed it during her Happier Than Ever tour in the U.K. in June.

Talking about making it into a new single, she said: “Performing ‘TV’ on tour was such a highlight for us too, so we took the audio from the first night we played it in Manchester and put it in the song.

“I get shivers every time I hear it. “
