Leeds United want Mergim Berisha and they could finally give Jesse Marsch what he wanted last summer by signing the striker.

Marsch has already shown a willingness – even a desire – to sign players he has previously worked with in his career.

Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen have both arrived from Red Bull Salzburg having worked with Marsch in Austria.

Tyler Adams has also joined Leeds, and is a particular favourite of Marsch from their time together at New York Red Bulls and RB Leipzig.

Just when you thought the influx of Marsch favourites was over, Leeds could have one more up their sleeve…

Leeds United want Mergim Berisha

Leeds want a new striker to support Patrick Bamford. Arnaud Kalimuendo and Charles De Ketelaere are the exciting names in the mix, but a new name has been linked.

Yeni Şafak in Turkey report that Leeds are pushing to sign Fenerbahce striker Mergim Berisha.

It’s stated that Leeds have offered €2million (£1.7million) to sign Berisha, but that’s around £2.5million short of Fenerbahce’s asking price.

Leeds may well return with a new move for Berisha and reunite him with Marsch in the process.

Berisha played under Marsch at Red Bull Salzburg and smashed 22 goals in 42 games in their last season together.

Marsch then moved on to RB Leipzig and Berisha was sold to Fenerbahce, going their separate ways.

Yet reports in Germany suggested that Marsch did want to sign Berisha for Leipzig, who were in the market for a new goalscorer.

Leipzig ended up signing Andre Silva instead, meaning Marsch missed out on the reunion he wanted with Berisha.

Yet fast forward a year and Marsch may now be given that chance again.

Berisha would seemingly be a very cheap option for Leeds as they seek a new striker, and with Marsch clearly a huge fan, the American boss could finally get the deal he wanted a year ago.
