Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to provide an update on Tottenham target Marc Cucurella, as Arsenal close in on Oleksandr Zinchenko.
What’s the story?
Well, Antonio Conte has been monitoring the Brighton left-back, who enjoyed a brilliant debut campaign in the Premier League last season – the Seagulls now value him at £50m, as a result of his performances.
However, Romano now believes a “bid is coming” from Manchester City as they aim to replace Zinchenko, who has basically joined Arsenal – we now await official confirmation from the Gunners, although Pep Guardiola and Kyle Walker have already said their goodbyes during a press conference.
That will come as a blow to Tottenham, as their hopes of signing Cucurella suffer a significant hit thanks to their bitter rivals moving for the Ukraine international.
Romano adds that Manchester City have already made good progress in regards to agreeing personal terms with the Spaniard, with a “full verbal agreement” close.

Well then, it seems Conte and Fabio Paratici – Director of Football at Tottenham – will have to explore alternatives in the left-back department, unless they can somehow hijack Manchester City’s move for Cucurella.
Interest in the 23-year-old comes after he made 39 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring one goal while also providing two assists.
Who Tottenham could turn to after Arsenal cause Cucurella breakdown
With Pep Guardiola now closing in on a deal for Cucurella, let’s see who else Paratici could bring to N17 as Conte aims to bolster his options on the left.
There was interest in Andrea Cambiaso before he decided to join Juventus, while there has also been admiration for RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, who can operate on the left as well as the centre of defence.
Additionally, Spurs have expressed interest in Burnley winger Dwight McNeil, who shone on the left flank for the Clarets in the Premier League, and has the energy to adapt at wing-back.
Clearly, Conte is hoping to sign another option in that area with Sergio Reguilon potentially heading for the exit door, so be sure to keep an eye on the situation.
