West Ham United want Hwang Ui-jo and the Bordeaux striker has now admitted that there is an offer on the table from David Moyes.

The Hammers simply have to go and sign a new striker this summer.

Michail Antonio has turned 32 and his muscle injuries have been a problem for years now.

West Ham have targeted Armando Broja and Gianluca Scamacca as they attempt to spend big money on a new centre forward.

Deals for the duo are far from easy and it may mean that West Ham have to look elsewhere down the line.

West Ham United want Hwang Ui-jo

One surprise name linked of late is Bordeaux hitman Hwang Ui-jo.

Calciomercato reported in June that West Ham had made contact over a potential deal for Hwang.

Bordeaux will be pillaged this summer given that they were not only relegated from Ligue 1, but then demoted to the third tier.

That means many players will be looking to leave Bordeaux and Southampton have already swooped in for Sekou Mara.

Hwang looks likely to leave too and West Ham are emerging as a potential destination.

Hwang has spoken to Bordeaux website Girondins4Ever and has discussed his future.

The South Korea international has suggested that whilst his future isn’t decided yet, there is an offer on the table from West Ham but also from Nantes.

“I am waiting, nothing is decided yet,” said Hwang. “There will be more details to give you depending on the financial situation of the team, of Bordeaux. It is true that offers have arrived from FC Nantes and West Ham United as well,” he added.

The report adds that Strasbourg, Montpellier, Mainz, Porto and Minnesota are also keen on Hwang, though he has rejected the latter.

Hwang, 29, hit 11 goals last season despite Bordeaux dropping out of Ligue 1, following up on 12 goals in the 2020-21 campaign.

Hwang wouldn’t set pulses racing quite like Broja and Scamacca, but he could be a budget option given Bordeaux’s struggles.
