This week, Twitter and Instagram have been taken over by the viral Little Miss meme trend.

The popular trend uses characters from English author Roger Hargreaves’ famous Mr. Men books which began publication in August 1971.

Every book is about a different character which is named after a specific emotion or action, like Mr. Greedy, Mr. Happy and Mr. Bump.

In 1981, he also launched an accompanying series called Little Miss which uses female characters like Little Miss Sunshine, Little Miss Bossy and Little Miss Giggles.

Roger Hargreaves sadly died in 1998 but his son Adam carried on the series which is a huge part of many British childhoods.

Now, the Mr. Men and Little Miss books have inspired the latest big social media trend. Read on to find out what it is and how to make your own meme…

Little Miss trend takes over social media

The viral Little Miss trend sees internet users using Roger Hargreaves’ characters to share their own emotions and personalities.

People are using photos of the characters, like Little Miss Fun, Little Miss Trouble and Little Miss Fabulous and adding their own captions.

Some funny examples of the memes include “Little Miss Uses Big Words Incorrectly,” “Little Miss Back Pain” and and “Little Miss Passive Aggressive”.

The text can be anything you like, it just has to relate to your personality and shed some light on who you are as a person to create your own Little Miss character – the funnier the better!

Men have also started doing the same thing with Mr. Men characters, but the male version hasn’t gone quite so viral.

How to create your own Little Miss memes

As the trend has taken over, many are wondering how to create their own Little Miss memes, and it’s not as easy as you may think.

Unfortunately, there’s no Little Miss meme maker, generator or application that does it for you and you’ll have to whip out your editing skills if you want to make your own.

First, you need to find the Little Miss character that you want to use. It doesn’t really matter which one you pick, just choose one that you look the look of or relates to the caption you’re going to write.

You can find a full list of Little Miss characters with photos on Mr. Men Wiki here and a full list of Mr. Men characters here.

Next, screenshot a photo of the character from Google Images and insert it into a photo editing app that allows you to add text. The most popular one is Photoshop, but there are loads available on iOS and Android.

Then, all you need to do it add your caption above the photo. Make sure you use black text and choose a font that looks similar to the one used on the original books to make it look more realistic.

Now save your Little Miss or Mr. Men meme and upload it to social media!
