How to encrypt whatsApp chat backups on iphone

By default, WhatsApp chats are encrypted end-to-end, but iPhone users’ backups are not encrypted. To be on the safe side, you can encrypt those WhatsApp backups end-to-end. This is how.
Open WhatsApp on your iPhone to begin. Then, in the bottom-right corner, tap the “Settings” (gear-shaped) icon.
In WhatsApp Settings, select “Chats.

In Chats, tap “Chat Backup.”

Under Chat Backup options, tap “End-to-End Encrypted Backup.”

The next screen will show that the Encrypted backup is off. Select “Turn On.”

On the next screen, tap “Create Password.”

Create a new password that contains at least six digits and a letter. Then, in the top-right corner, tap the “Next” button. On the following screen, enter the same password and tap “Next” in the top-right corner once more.
Precaution: Keep a copy of this password in a secure location. Without it, you will be unable to access your message backups.

At the bottom, tap the “Create” button to confirm your desire to create a new End-to-End Encrypted Backup. WhatsApp will encrypt your backup and store it in iCloud.
