Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ben Foster has been discussing Gabriel Jesus after he joined Arsenal.

The former Watford goalkeeper was doing some pre-season predictions heading into the 2022/23 campaign, and he believes that the Brazilian could be a real difference maker for the Gunners this term.

Foster is a big fan of Jesus, stating that he’s a massive signing for Arsenal, and he believes that the centre-forward never really got enough credit for his contributions at Manchester City during his time in the north-west.

What’s been said?

Foster spoke about Jesus.

“Massive signing Gabriel Jesus, he’s a massive signing. Gabi Jesus, I honestly don’t think he gets the credit he deserves, he played for Man City and people think he should be scoring five goals a game. It doesn’t work like that sometimes, City don’t play like that, they use cutbacks and midfield overloads and everyone else will score the goals. Arsenal have been crying out for that guy for a long time and I think he’ll do really well this year,’ Foster said.

Time to prove himself

Foster reckons that Jesus didn’t get the credit he deserved at Manchester City, but now, he has the perfect chance to prove his talents at Arsenal.

The Brazilian will be the focal point of the Gunners’ attack, and with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli around him, he should get plenty of chances to score goals.

Indeed, a key criticism of Jesus’ time at City was that he didn’t score enough, but playing as a lone number nine at Arsenal should give him a great chance to show that he’s more than capable of being that 20-goal-a-season striker that every elite club wants.
