Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that Jesse Lingard would ‘choose West Ham’ over Nottingham Forest, if they are both offering the ‘same package’, as he told talkSPORT.
Pre-season is underway ahead of the new Premier League season and Lingard is at a stage where he has to decide where his future lies.
The 30-year-old left his boyhood club of Manchester United last month, now a host of teams in the Premier League, Europe and even the MLS are keen to take him on board.

It was obvious that West Ham’s name was going to pop up once he left Old Trafford, but of late, newly-promoted Forest have emerged as strong candidates to take him on board.
Lingard can sit back and watch teams tussle for his signature, as Agbonlahor shared his thoughts on the 32-cap England star’s future.
“I think it depends on the package,” said Agbonlahor. “I think if he has to choose out of West Ham and Nottingham Forest, and they are offering the same package, then he would choose West Ham, of course.
“He knows the club, the players and the manager. But maybe Nottingham Forest are coming up with a better package. A longer contract. Maybe more wages and he is going down that road.”

STATEMENT OF INTENT FROM FOREST
If Steve Cooper’s side manage to lure Lingard to the City Ground, over the likes of West Ham, then it would be a statement of intent from the club.
It has been over two decades since a team of Forest’s size have tasted top-flight football and they aren’t going to be keen to drop back down anytime soon, but move forward and relive the glory days.
A player of Lingard’s ilk certainly helps them maintain their status in the Premier League next season, but equally, he is more than good enough for Champions League-chasing West Ham.
David Moyes’s side are in Europe again, they will be aiming to win the Europa Conference League, but equally, make a return to the top-six.
Lingard helped them achieve that goal last time out, so it’s all still up in the air as to whose colours Lingard will be wearing when the new season kicks off next month.
