Google Gmail Signout Procedure

It’s a huge privacy risk to leave Gmail open while using an unknown computer. Fortunately, signing out is a simple process—even if you don’t have access to the device anymore. Here are the four different ways to exit Gmail.
How to Logout of Gmail from a Computer or Laptop
Remember to log out of your Google or Gmail account when you’re finished using it on a shared computer. You won’t be signed out of your Gmail account if you just close the tab.
Open the Gmail website in the browser you used to log in and sign out of Gmail. In order to sign out of your Google Profile, click the Google Profile icon in the upper right corner of your browser window and then click “Sign Out”.
(This button will read “Sign out of All Accounts” if you’re logged into multiple accounts at the same time.) As there is no way to selectively log out of multiple accounts from here, you’ll have to sign out from all accounts.)
You’ll be logged out of the browser in an instant.
However, your email address (but not your password) will be stored in the browser to make future logins easier. If you’re concerned about privacy, the best course of action is to delete your account from the browser completely.
Select “Remove an Account” from the “Choose an Account” drop-down menu that appears.

For faster logins, the browser will keep track of your email address only (and not your password). If you’re concerned about privacy, the best course of action is to delete your account from the browser completely.

Select “Remove an Account” from the “Choose an Account” drop-down menu that appears.
After that, click the red account deletion icon (a minus sign in a circle) next to it.

To remove the item, click “Yes, Remove” on the confirmation pop-up.

Your browsing history will be cleared, including all of your saved passwords.

Open the Gmail app on your iPhone or iPad and tap the Google Profile icon in the upper-right corner of the screen to access your account.
Tap the “Manage Accounts on This Device” button in the pop-up menu that appears.
All of the accounts you’ve added to your device will be displayed here. Tap the switch next to an account’s name to temporarily disable it.

Using this method will sign you out of your device completely.

On Android, how do you sign out of the Gmail app?
The Android operating system is inextricably linked to the Google account (along with Gmail). And the only way to log out of Gmail on Android is to log out of your entire Google account.
On Android, you must utilize the Settings app to log out of your Gmail account. The Settings interface will vary based on which Android smartphone you’re using, but the processes will remain the same.
Select “Manage Accounts on This Device” from the drop-down menu.
This will take you to the “Accounts” section of the Settings menu. Select the Gmail account from which you want to log out.
After that, select “Remove Account” from the drop-down menu.
To confirm, touch the “Remove Account” button in the pop-up once more.
You will be logged out of the Gmail app and your Google account will be erased from your Android smartphone.

How to Log Out of Gmail from a Lost or Stolen Device
Even if you don’t have access to a device, you can log out of it using the device management tool in your Google account. This option will come in useful if you misplace your laptop or smartphone.
In your browser, go to your Gmail account, click the Google Profile symbol in the top-right corner, and select “Manage Your Google Account.”
The Accounts page in Settings may be accessed right from the Gmail client via a handy shortcut. On your Android smartphone, open the Gmail app and tap the Google Profile symbol in the top-right corner of the screen.

Your Google Account will be deactivated on the specified device. Follow these instructions to sign out of any other devices you want to sign out of remotely.
