Ilkay Gundogan has told Oleksandr Zinchenko ‘going to miss you’ after his transfer to Arsenal from Manchester City, as he posted on his Instagram story.

Arsenal have signed two players from Manchester City this summer, and amazingly enough, they were linked with many more, including midfielder Gundogan.

More than likely, that will probably be the end of it, even though there were those Gundogan rumours, as the German international had this message for Zinchenko: “All the best for your new chapter, my friend. Gonna miss you!”

ZINCHENKO STARTS LIFE AT ARSENAL WITH A WIN

Just a 4-0 pre-season win against Chelsea for Zinchenko to start off life in Arsenal colours – Mikel Arteta lauded his first minutes for the club.

The Ukraine star got 45 minutes under his belt, playing at left-back, and it will be interesting to see what role he plays going forward.

Kieran Tierney has had injury problems during his time in north London, and in truth, whilst fans would have been worried before, they won’t be now because Zinchenko can fill that void.

So, with Tierney trying to return back from the treatment room, he can take his time because, with the Scotsman out of the XI, the level of quality will now no longer drop because it’s Zinchenko filling that void and not Nuno Tavares.

Either way, with the Gunners adding two proven winners to their XI in Gabriel Jesus and Zinchenko, it’s not just the quality they have to improve at the Emirates, but the club’s mentality as well.

Crystal Palace, Tottenham and Newcastle away are three matches that Arsenal managed to shoot themselves in the foot, and in the end, miss out on the chance of securing fourth and Champions League football.

Would Zinchenko and Jesus change that course of destiny if the same scenario occurs next season? Well, time will now tell.
