Arsenal have signed Marquinhos and new teammate Emile Smith Rowe already loves him having commented on his funny side.

The Gunners have landed some important signings this summer with Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus arriving in big-money deals.

Jesus isn’t the only Brazilian to join Arsenal though as Edu once again raided the market in his homeland.

Edu earned huge praise for finding Gabriel Martinelli and is now seeking a similar impact from new signing Marquinhos.

Arsenal have signed Marquinhos

Arsenal swooped to sign Marquinhos from Sao Paulo having showed some promise in Brazil.

Marquinhos hit four goals and three assists in 41 games for Sao Paulo, landing himself on Edu’s radar.

Arsenal completed a cut-price deal for Marquinhos and hope to develop him into a star of the future.

The 19-year-old is raw and unlikely to make a Premier League impact in his first season with Arsenal.

Still, Marquinhos is another exciting talent out wide, just like Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and, of course, Martinelli.

Arsenal fans, players and staff are being given a glimpse of Marquinhos in action during pre-season and he already seems to have one huge fan.

Arsenal star Smith Rowe has told the Daily Mail that he thinks Marquinhos is a ‘funny guy’ based on his interactions with the Brazilian so far.

Smith Rowe denied attempting to teach Marquinhos some less-than-savoury English words, but really loves the personality being brought by Arsenal’s new teenager.

“Marquinhos,” said Smith Rowe when asked who he would most want to sit with during lunch, which may sound a little high school.

“His English is not great but I’m teaching him a little bit. Nah, the good English! He’s a funny guy,” he added.

Arsenal have one more pre-season game in Florida before returning to London to face Sevilla on July 30th.

That gives Marquinhos two more chances to potentially impress Mikel Arteta and show that he is worth giving first-team minutes to this season.

We may see Marquinhos emerge in the EFL Cup, just as Martinelli did, but most of his action will surely be in the Under-23’s unless a loan move materialises.
