As you may have heard, West Ham are closing in on a deal to bring Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca to the Premier League.

The Hammers have agreed a £35.5m fee with the Serie A side for the Italy international, and according to Fabrizio Romano, the Sassuolo No.91 has just passed his medical with the east Londoners.

Scamacca will now put pen to paper on his contract, and Romano believes he knows what West Ham “will focus on” after the deal is finalised.

What’s the story?

Well, the reliable Italian journalist claims that West Ham will attempt to agree a contract with Filip Kostic right after completing the signing of Scamacca – the pair share the same agent.

The Irons have supposedly had a bid worth £11m accepted by Eintracht Frankfurt, although it has been said that the Serbia international is unsure about a move to the London Stadium.

Therefore, West Ham may find it difficult to agree personal terms with Kostic.

If they can agree a contract with the 29-year-old, it would be a tremendous signing.

Kostic scored seven goals and provided 15 assists in all competitions last season, helping Eintracht Frankfurt win the Europa League as he was named Player of the Tournament by UEFA.

Kostic & Scamacca could cause chaos for West Ham

In our view, Kostic and Scamacca could quickly become a lethal duo.

The Eintracht Frankfurt No.10 has matched Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jadon Sancho in terms of league assists since August 2018, registering 44 setups in that time.

In that respect, the prolific Scamacca – who scored 16 goals last season – could thrive off the service provided by Kostic.

If David Moyes can find a way to gel them both in quickly, then we’re confident the pair will be included in many people’s Fantasy Football teams.

Keep an eye on developments, as West Ham could even announce Scamacca today.
