The Gray Man is finally here and we imagine almost anybody with a Netflix login will be tuning in to this one as soon as possible.

Ryan Gosling. Chris Evans. Ana de Armas. These are just three of the reasons that all eyes will be on The Gray Man, an American action thriller that landed on Netflix on Friday, July 22, 2022.

Not only that but it’s directed by the Russo brothers, who previously helmed Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Needless to say, this directorial duo know their way around a blockbuster and Slate reports that it’s Netflix’s most expensive movie to date.

With a $200 million budget, it’s ambitious in scope and packed with breathtaking set-pieces. But is there still some room for a little something extra after the credits?

Let’s highlight whether The Gray Man has a post-credit scene…

Does The Gray Man have a post-credit scene?

No, The Gray Man does not have a post-credit or mid-credits scene.

When the film wraps up there are some visuals to accompany the credits that are fun to check out. However, there’s no additional sequence or stinger that advances the plot or teases a sequel.

So, if you’re pressed for time you won’t miss out on anything if you duck out after the final shot and the credits begin to list the talent involved.

Also, for those wondering – because it’s a damn catchy track – the song playing over the initial credits is Wild Child by The Black Keys; the song is taken from their 2022 album Dropout Boogie.

No, this doesn’t mean there won’t be a The Gray Man sequel

Considering the Russo brothers are so closely associated with the MCU, it’s perhaps a little surprising that they didn’t include a mid or post-credit scene.

However, they arguably didn’t need one because the film’s ending sets up the potential for a sequel on its own.

Fortunately for fans of the movie, there’s more source material to pull from too. The Gray Man is based on Mark Greaney’s 2009 novel of the same name and it was the first book to feature the titular freelance assassin and former CIA operative Court Gentry.

He wrote a follow-up in 2010 called On Target and The Gray Man series is now made up of an impressive 11 novels in total. The twelfth – titled Burner – is expected in 2023.

So, there’s definitely potential for a movie franchise when there are so many more novels in the series to adapt.

It’s Uncatchable Ryan Gosling vs. Unstoppable Chris Evans in THE GRAY MAN, directed by the Russo Brothers. Also starring: Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Regé-Jean Page, Wagner Moura, Julia Butters, Dhanush with Alfre Woodard & Billy Bob Thorton. Now on Netflix— NetflixFilm (@NetflixFilm) July 22, 2022

‘We would love to make another one…’

Sitting down with Insider, Joe Russo was asked if there is a plan to continue The Gray Man as a series of movies or potential TV spin-offs:

“The hope is that it’s commercially successful and that the audience loves it. We have to see how the audience responds. We loved making it. We love the character. We love the world.”

He added: “We would love to make another one as filmmakers because we liked swimming in it.”

Netflix is yet to announce whether a sequel has been greenlit but the streamer will likely monitor the movie’s performance before determining whether to pursue a franchise.

The Gray Man is streaming exclusively on Netflix.
