Jose Enrique has claimed that ‘Chelsea are getting stronger’ as they are seemingly close to signing Tottenham transfer target, Jules Kounde from Sevilla, as he posted on his Instagram story.
The former Liverpool left-back added that he ‘can’t wait for this season to start’, as he has also backed the Reds to finish first next season, Manchester City second, then Chelsea and Tottenham to make up the rest of the Premier League’s top-four.
It could be argued that a lot of the transfer noise this summer is coming from the London teams, with Spurs bringing in six new faces, Arsenal five and now Chelsea are getting their engine going following Todd Boehly’s takeover – they have agreed to buy Kounde for £55 million.

Whilst most will still back Manchester City and Liverpool to be the two top dogs during the forthcoming Premier League season, the race for those Champions League spots might just cost a few managers in their jobs.
Nonetheless, this is what Anfield-mad pundit Enrique had to say about Chelsea seemingly being close to signing Tottenham target Kounde.
“Great player,” said Enrique. “Chelsea are getting strong. Can’t wait for this season to start.”

WHO WILL SECURE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOOTBALL?
From Tottenham trying to take their game to another level under the stewardship of their trophy-laded coach Antonio Conte, Manchester United looking to rebuild with Erik ten Hag and perhaps Newcastle trying to cause a few upsets with their new owners.
The forthcoming Premier League season might see a number of battles, such as the race for Europe, go down to the last day of the season, as it did last time out.
One thing is for sure, all the top teams are making noises in the transfer market and they are well aware that if they don’t move their chess piece, then they will be replaced.
Many feel Chelsea are the closest to closing the gap on the Premier League’s top-two, and in truth, the moves they are now making in the transfer market suggest they probably can.
If Kounde joins, then alongside Kalidou Koulibaly and Raheem Sterling, it is becoming a pretty strong summer transfer window so far for the West London club.
