Gianluca Scamacca is West Ham United-bound as Sassuolo have agreed to sell their star striker to David Moyes’ men.

West Ham simply had to come out of this transfer window with a new striker on board.

Sebastien Haller was sold to Ajax in January 2021 and still hasn’t been replaced.

Nothing sums up West Ham’s need for a striker quite like realising that Haller has even moved on again, joining Borussia Dortmund.

West Ham need to bring in a quality goalscorer to support Michail Antonio – and they appear to have landed their man.

Gianluca Scamacca is West Ham-bound

Reports in recent days have suggested that West Ham are on the verge of signing Sassuolo hitman Gianluca Scamacca.

Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter this afternoon to state that an agreement has been signed between West Ham and Sassuolo.

The deal is worth a total of €42million (£35million), with £5million of that coming in add-ons whilst Sassuolo have added a 10% sell-on clause.

Scamacca has accepted the move and all appears to be going well as West Ham close in on their new striker.

Sky Sports have now shared a video of Scamacca at an airport in Rome as he prepares to fly into London.

Scamacca will then undergo a medical and finalise the details of his exciting move to the Premier League.

Scamacca is a huge presence at 6ft 5in tall and racked up 16 goals in 36 Serie A games last season.

That’s all the more impressive when you realise that 11 of those appearances came as a substitute.

The Italian international can bring a real physical presence to the West Ham attack, but will hopefully enjoy more success than the aforementioned Haller.

£30million rising to £35million is a fairly big price for West Ham to be paying for a new striker, but it’s all with the goal of cracking the top six next season with Scamacca expected to play a big role.
